Roy's Cafe, Amboy Route 66
20150420-LI9A0480 Roy's is just off Bristol Dry Lake on Route 66 in the California desert. Bristol is a major hub for calcium chloride production, with a little byproduct salt produced. Hill Brothers Chemical, National Chloride and now Tetra Chemical (former Cargill and previously Leslie Salt) all operate on the lake. Not sure what has come of the old Lee Chemical plant on nearby Cadiz Lake. Most of us old salts know one another. Doesn't Roy's look like the happening gathering spot?
